Asset Elite - Discretionary Fund Management (DFM)

It has become clear to us that whilst most people are looking to grow capital and/or income, there comes a time, perhaps after a business has been sold or an inheritance received, where the investment process is secondary to the tax implications and perhaps estate planning problems that larger sums of money can bring.

With this in mind we have developed the concept of "Asset Elite" for clients with investible assets of over £350,000 which utilises the services of a range of independent Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs) to target capital preservation whilst we concentrate on the estate planning side as your financial planning advisers.

In conjunction with FACT our bespoke cashflow analysis tool (which will draw in future capital and income needs as well as threats) we can set out an investment programme to suit.

There is no point in taking the risks inherent in a portfolio that could rise or fall by 20% if you only need to maintain a steady 4-5% to satisfy your needs and, perhaps above all, stop worrying about your money!

Once we have arrived at a viable financial plan, we will shortlist 2 or 3 of the most suitable DFMs then together we will meet to discuss your needs and only then will you decide with whom you are most comfortable.

Trustees and Charities

To comply with the Trustee Act 2000, all trusts must have a statement of investment principles and ensure that trust investments are held in truly diversified holdings relevant to the aims of the trust. The use of a DFM to constantly monitor the underlying investments is a real benefit to trustees and their appointed investment advisers.

Charities too need to adopt a similar "steady" investment style and many DFMs have years of experience in this area.
